Monsieur Fat Pig

Monsieur Fat Pig,
renowned artist to whom I have
been canvas several times,
apparently likes my frame.

He would have me hanging
on his office wall, but he's got a wife
and kids - "these things consume
a lot of money", he explains.

These are days of cheap copies
and easy pleasures,
because I am costly,
he bargains.

I have run into many men
like Monsieur Fat Pig lately.
My disgust for their sexist,
insulting behavior, sustained.

  2. It is very true that there are a lot of sexist people out there, but I bet that percentage is less than those who are decent. I don't judge a book by its cover when it comes to friendship, but everyone has their standards when it comes to having an intimate relationship. This is coming from an honest opinion because I don't much like hiding behind shutter doors when it comes to opinion. Having said this I really liked your poem and how you were able to capture the judging concept that people place on one another. Not to mention the wonderful metaphorical story that you've created. Awesome! :)

  3. the italics do it for me - hearing the voice itself italicized, the drawn out, lingering short "a" and "i" in the next two words... ~
