On the risk of meaning nothing

When you focus on what I say
you miss everything
I carry in silence.

There are distances in me
your eyes don't meet.

I have heights and depths
you feet might not touch.

But I lose purpose
when you don't
take the risk.

  5. There is a certain risk in getting to know someone too closely, and many people opt for the superficial, but I see it as a form of self-protection. It takes great human heart to see, understand and accept what lies beneath.

Your poetry is always a welcome presence in the Imaginary Garden.

  10. Oh, this speaks of relationships - of what it means to just go that little bit more, take a chance for sure, but yet… well - it's what love should be. I really, really love this.
