You are no longer alone
you gave someone a key
you wake up at five to wait
for the first sight of the sun
and he is sound asleep
you like your life
you do what you love
you pay your debts
you have just got a
washing machine
you sleep eight hours a night
and hardly ever have a
bad dream.

Maybe the washing machine is the key :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sooo excited to read your first poem of April, Kenia. I adore the listing effect, the simple things that say a whole lot about a happiness within. It is a big thing to give someone a key to your inner life.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteGee I have missed your poems, woman! This expresses so very well the importance and sway of the details of a life. Love! A new washer. Bills paid. This chick is rolling.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love it, Kenia! 💜💜
ReplyDeleteI get a great sense of peace and contentment reading your poem Kenia! My A post covers blogs/bloggers (starting withe A), and it's in process at Back Porchervations. Had no idea it was NaPoWriMo as well. Looking forward to your future posts!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteA simple ordinary life...wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe beauty a key brings when it is placed in the right hand is glorious.
ReplyDeleteThis sound comforting like a warm blanket wrapped up and snugged down before moving in the morning. Participating in AtoZ - short stories (http://www.erinpenn.com/)
ReplyDeleteSo good to read you again, Kenia ~
ReplyDeleteA delightful poem!!
