- the water says.
Let it be old grief,
I am so tired
I cannot cry,
small sadnesses
clump up inside me.
I've lost a shoe
walking the
flooded streets.
I was and am afraid.
My bones did and do ache.
None of these
stopped me.
We are the great danger. Psyche is the great danger. How
important is to know something about it, but we know nothing about it. (Carl Jung)
There is something so poignant about the image of the lost shoe, kenia. And I can relate to the line 'My bones did and do ache'...stress and poor sleep seems to have that affect on me. The clumps of sadnesses also ring very true.
ReplyDeletesmall sadnesses clump up inside me and I am so tired I cannot cry are great lines. I like how you compared being tired, weary with a long felt grief. Good work.
ReplyDeleteI am with my mother this weekend. She tells stories of when the war came, when she was a girl, and losing her home, friends, possessions. this reminds me of that ~
